I have 24" spaced metal studs and want to brace with wood before hanging a 46" inch tv and tilting wall mount. I have one metal stud pretty much center for the mounting bracket and thus the other metal studs are outside of where the bracket will go. I have access from behind the wall (bathroom that needs remodeling compared to the newly painted home theater room). I was thinking of installing an entire wood stud on one side of the metal stud (say left side) and putting a brace between the metal stud and the metal stud on the right. With that I could mount the bracket on the wood stud, the metal stud and the brace. I'm also considering putting a wood stud on both sides of the metal stud with no bracing. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.
