I get Max-HD through Comcast and they had 5.1 for I-Spy the other day. The movie was pretty poor, but I watched it anyway.

It was funny to read the quote from the Spice rep: "this audio complement is an important element in our delivery". Said they put in new audio equipment for capturing the effects.

Effects?

You mean those are foley'd & looped sounds?

*shudders at the though of somebody foley-ing Spice channel sounds*

So who has Bravo? Comcast, Dish, Direct TV?

Hmm. Foleying has been pretty much the same for 40 years. Same tools, same sounds. This might add a whole new dimension to that profession. Think of the new tricks they would have to come up with to foley Spice! I wonder if they aleady have Jello in their foley box.

Did anybody think about the looping studio? I mean are they going to make them come back in and loop the audio they couldn't get on set?

In a slight return to topic, Maximum, I think there are a couple of cable co's back east that carry BravoHD+ (look at the programming sticky in this forum). But I'm not sure what they're really going to gain from 5.1 on Bravo just yet........

Cinemax not to launch in DD5.1 would have been a travesty, even I-Spy is passable movie w/ 5.1 right Sangs? ;)

edit: So I can't tell the difference between Starz and Cinemax, can you? :p

I just called up dishnetwork to ask about these channels and see if i can put in an official request for them and was told that i should contact the networks themselves rather than dish. is this true? is a request to dish a waste? He told me that the networks have to offer the new hd channels to Charlie. that just doesn't sound right to me...
