i still use my 'antique' sony 400Q lcd projector.

i'm using it w/ CP72 DVD (similar to RP82), and i'm reasonably happy.

however, i'm NOT getting the full benefit of the player, since the sony can NOT handle 480p - so i have to watch 480i only.

the sony WILL accept 540p and 1080i - which the new Bravo D1 will output via component.

this sounds like a perfect (only?) solution for me. has anyone tried this? what improvement in quality did you see? (i saw some comments that the Bravo D1 component is not nearly as good as the DVI?)

thks!

that's exactly my plan - by using the Bravo D1 DVD player, the DVD scaling will be done in the digital domain, and the 540p / 1080i output will be treated as a "HDTV" signal by the projector.

- and i do not need any additional boxes, HTPC, etc.
