I am working on a distributed HDMI sytem for a new home and would like to use zones from 12 channel, 6 zone amp for stereo sound in three of the video zones. I would like to use HDMI through a 4x4 HDMI matrix switch for the video feed but I want to break the audio out from the HDMI feed so it can be fed through a 8x8 audio matrix and into the 12 channel amp as an analog signal. Any suggestions?

The Octava HDDA12A has a pair of RCA Outputs and will pass and decode 2.0 LPCM.

why not just route the analog audio from the devices to the 8x8 audio matrix. you can use hdmi and analog at the same time. looks like you'll need four of these devices to do what you want.

Good point. i guess I was just wondering if it could be done since am still early in the planning stages and haven't selected my sources yet.
