So I recently acquired a new (to me) Def Tech IWSub Referance in-wall subwoofer. I'm really pretty excited about it, but then I started thinking about my options as far as amplifying it.

I have a Sherbourn TST 200-4 2-channel 4-zone amp lying around that is rated at 100Wx2 RMS. Obviously I would only be using 1-channel, and only receiving 100Watts to power the subwoofer. I called Sherbourn to ask about "bridging the amp" and they said that technically the amp could not be bridged from the factory, but that if I could invert the phase of one of the outputs (when taking the two positive outputs) that I could manually put it into a bridged mode (and thus get about 200Wx1 output).

I'm pretty electronically savvy, but I don't know how to go about inverting the phase like I need to. Is there a simple device that will do this? Is it even worth trying?

I also have a brand new amp from a Revel B15a that I am thinking about using (it's 1000W RMS) whic is a little overkill, but perhaps is a better option anyway (3-band fully parametric EQ)... but I've been saving this amp for when I have time to build a DIY sub.

If anyone knows any way to get the Sherbourn setup in a bridged status, I would GREATLY appreciate your help. Thanks in advance, Todd.

I'm not sure if it has dual VC's or not. I have not taken the actual subwoofer out of the cabinet. Are you thinking that would be an easy way to rewire it out of phase?

I'm not too concerned about the amp, because I don't use it for anything, but it is brand new with a $800 msrp. If there is an easy way to do it, i'll probably try. But otherwise I'll probably just use the Revel amp.
