When my PJ has this type of content on screen (even HD content) I see alot of pixelation. Is this normal, or something I can tweak away? I am using a component input though my cable box has digital option. (DVI / HDMI)
It probably has nothing to do with component versus DVI/HDMI.
It usually has to do with the MPEG-2 encoding that the broadcaster is performing. Since it is being performed in realtime, and the bitrate may be too low, the MPEG-2 encoder struggles with abrupt changes in the picture.
There are some algorithms that the receiver could use to reduce the visibility of the pixelation to some extent. If your receiver does not use such algorithms, then you could try adding an external processor that does, such as the Algolith Mosquito .
