I did search first, but did not come up with anything. If this has come up before, my apologies if I'm kicking the dead horse.


I've had a 5040 for about a year and a half and love it.


Lately it's been acting up. Rather I'm watching live TV or watching a recorded show, the audio will start to break up. Picture is fine. Switching over to my other turner reveals that it’s not the cable. It is specific to the Replay. It gets progressively worse until you just have to turn it off. After a few hours everything is back to normal.


Could this be a heat issue, or is something else causing it??

hmmm that's an odd one. The only time I've heard the same is with digital cable and it was the digtal cable that was causing the problem. But, it sounds like you've ruled that as best you can.


If it were heat I can't see why it would work later unless it's your fan screwing up. Does the fan work?
