Bryston 4B ST "Footprint"?

367 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  Aerlith
I know that the depth of the 4B ST is 15.5". What is the actual shelf depth required for the 4B ST? I need to know the distance from the front of the front "foot" to the rear of the rear "foot". My current shelf depth is 13.375". My shelves are 10" apart and open on all sides.

BTW, I plan to buy this amp to power my B&W Nautilus 804s. Does anybody out there use this combination? If so, opinions, advice would be appreciated.

The distance from the front of the leading feet to the rear of the back feet is about 11 1/4". One other possible issue is that the speaker binding posts of the Bryston are not a typical 5-way post, being instead an EU-compliant device with banana connections as a normal post would have(pointing out the back of the unit) but spade/pin/bare wire connections accessed from below only (or at least, they are that way on my amplifier). Bulky speaker wire without the ability to bend easily may require you to leave the posts positioned over open space (i.e., the entire amp placed far enough back that the speaker wire can be connected directly). The distance from the leading edge of the front feet to the beginning of the binding posts is about 11 7/8". I use WBT 0645 banana plugs and have no problems, but your shelves should work fine.
