My budget $300 on amp and DAC and $150-$300 headphone I have never used a Dac or a amplifier or a high end headphone.The purpose is for watching movies, play pc games and watch youtube videos. Should i buy Vali amp or Magni amp what's the difference?

Am going to buy Objective2 Headphone Amplifier and Standalone ODAC and Beyerdynamic premium 600ohms. What is the difference 250ohms or 600ohms for movies and playing pc games and watching youtube videos. Beyerdynamic 990 600hms $340 Beyerdynamic 990 250 ohms $300 $40 extra for 600ohms is it worth it?

I'm assuming you want DAC+Amp for computer 2 channel audio.


I have standalone ODAC and O2 amp from JDS Labs. ODAC can do up to 24/96, above that everything will be down-converted, also it doesn't support DSD natively, those need to be converted to PCM in software.

I don't care about 24/192 (or higher) and DSD. I'm very happy with my ODAC and O2. You won't be disappointed.


Or you can buy Modi (24/96 PCM) + Loki (DSD64) + Magni (amp) from Schiit.

If you want higher res support (up to 32/384) and full DSD (64 and 128) then be prepared to spend much more. The cheapest DAC+Amp that can do all that is Teac UD-501 ($850).


As far as headphones I'd get Beyerdynamic DT-880 Pro 250 Ohm.

I went for Beyerdynamic DT-990 Pro 250 Ohm. Objective2 Headphone Amplifier, Standalone ODAC, this headphone am going to use it for fps games on pc, movies, youtube
