OK, here's what happened...

I had a guaranteed show based recording set up for ED every Sunday at 8 on channel 3. I had also set up a guaranteed on time recording of Lethal Weapon 4 immediately following ED on the same channel.

Since I record everything at standard quality, and I was watching live at the time ED started, I cancelled the record when the notice came up and just watched it live. At the end of the show, they announced that the show was moving to Wed. nights in 2 weeks. Since I've taken advantage of specific recording days for pretty much all of the regular shows I watch, I went into the replay guide and changed the properties for ED to get both Wed. and Sun. nights. upon saving the changes, the red light came on. OK, I thought, now it's started recording Lethal Weapon, I'll get ready for bed and shut off the TV.

I exited the guide and watched a few minutes of the movie before shutting off the TV, then went back to the guide to look at something real quick and noticed ED with less than 1 minute recorded... hmmm... maybe it caught the last few seconds after I changed the properties, so I deleted it.

The red light proceeded to shut off... huh?

So I pressed record, and started it recording lethal weapon (a few minutes late won't kill me...

Went to the main menu, there's a message. The recording of Lethal Weapon 4 was discarded due to a schedule conflict with ED...? huh?

Look through the replay guide, there's the lethal weapon recording I just started, happily recording away, and there's a lethal weapon 4 channel with nothing in it saying nothing is scheduled to record...

I give... What did I do wrong?

Of course, in a day or so, I'll be setting up all of my recordings again when my 3060 is delivered...

I had thought this might be a bug, but after actually watching this movie, I have come to the conclusion that you're right... my Replay was attempting to protect me from myself...

Perhaps it should display a message when attempting to set up a recording for a "known bad show"... something along the lines of:

"Oh Gawd! Are you sure you really want to subject yourself to that?"

Possible options: "No/Hell No/Of Course Not"

Ed started recording again because the unit checks for a match whenever you create (or recreate ala edit) a Replay channel. SO you saved the changes at 8:58, and it checked the program guide and saw ed was on for another minute and try to record it.

I've had it happen to me too.
