I was perusing the latest projector superstore catalog when I came across the Epson powerlite 7800P. It says that the aspect ratio is "1.32 to 1.8 screen width ratio".

I wasn't sure if this was with changing lenses or if there was some way of switching it on the fly. If it is on the fly then this sounds great...or at least if it worked it's way into HT PJs it would be. A variable AR from 1.77 to 2.35 with a flick of a lever. No more external Panamorphs.

That's the throw ratio, not the aspect ratio. It's a 4:3 XGA projector.

D'oh....So it is. I guess I was ready for a cool new feature. Always just one step ahead of the game.


Maybe I could restate my post..."wouldn't it be cool if..."
