Hi,

I did a search so please no flaming...

I am researching for RPTV purchase and from the searches know that the best way to avoid burn-in is to use the whole screen, keep contrast and brightness down, etc. My problem is that I watch a lot of sports and my wife likes MSNBC/FoxNews. ESPN2 has a continuous trailer at the bottom as do these other channels. If info is continuously running through, does this lessen the chance of burn-in? Also, what does anyone do about the annoying logos which are always in the lower corners on stations like MSNBC?

Thanks,

Dan

You get a minor flame because you searched the wrong forum. This is the HDTV board, you should have searched the CRT projectors board.

But in answer to your question, yes, even moving banners are a risk for burnin. That is because the edge of the banner is constant. WRT station logos, many RPTV owners simply don't watch stations like MSNBC that have constant, high contrast logos.
