Burnout Revenge achievement warning (spoiler)

SPOILER WARNING!

Ok, not to brag (alright, maybe to brag a little... ) but I had one final single-player achievement for Burnout Revenge to nail, so I decided to finish it off this weekend.

The last achievement I had to score was "Should Be Autographs!"...Awarded for completing all 24 Signature Takedowns.

The final Signature takedown for me was on White Mountain... the wording on one of the signature takedowns says something about taking down a rival on the "broken bridge".

PROBLEM: there are a few broken bridges on White Mountain. And the misleading thing is: there's a perfect wooden broken bridge that's a shortcut at the end of the run, or about 20 seconds into a "reverse run". I spent hours starting and restarting a reverse race to try to get a rival to crash on this bridge. I tried some of the other bridges too, but I was certain it was the broken wooden bridge because it looked especially designed for a signature takedown.

I was wrong.

After some surfing, I found that the signature takedown is the large concrete bridge in the middle of the run with the little section broken out. There's a ramp near this section so you can jump over it. The goal is to ram an opponent into the small broken section - I did on a regular (non-reverse) race.

If anyone hasn't achieved this signature takedown and is as frustrated as I was, I hope this helps. But this is a great game... I don't think I've tried so hard for 100% in a single-player game...EVER.

Wow, I never really thought about getting 100% in this game as there's a TON of stuff to do but interesting to see people achieve it :)

So what happens when you get all the takedowns? New cars, new options, etc??
Dave you sir are nuts! lol I can't believe you finished that with 100%.

BTW, I got total payback last night. :)

Yea, if you are an obsessive person you can have a lot of "fun" (term used loosely) with Burnout Revenge.

There are 86 cars to unlock, and I think each time you complete a level you get a new car. There's also car unlocks for completing the "challenge sheet" for each course, which are things like getting a vertical takedown, race without crashing, etc. Completing all 8 tasks for each course gives another car. Finally, each course also has 3 signature takedowns - special places to wreck a rival into.

Playing through the game and getting perfects for each level will get you most of the challenge sheets and signature takedowns by accident. But I would bet when most people reach "perfect elite" the game isn't at 100% yet. There's still some of the challenge sheets and signature takedowns leftover, at least there was in my case. Most of the challenge sheets aren't too hard, although a vertical takedown on Sunset Keys was somewhat tricky because there's not many jumps or ramps in the game.

And completing the game 100% unlocks the Burnout Revenge racer car  -- if you play much multiplayer you will see many of the top players racing in this car. You don't have to get 100% in single-player to use the car in multiplayer though.

...oh, and 100% also unlocks the credits! wahoo! :D

How slippery of you. I'm not sure whether you mean to include yourself in that category. ;)

Oh, I totally include myself in the "obsessive gamer" category!
Nice Work on the 100% , congratulations :D !

Good Job.... Most of the people with that achievement just get in little rooms with their buddies taking turns ramming each other into the signature points. At least your achievement is legit.

... had I known this was possible I would have been tempted.

Wait...can this work? I don't think you can score signature takedowns in anything but single-player mode....
Congrats on the 100%. I'm determined to make BR my first 360 game that I actually finish through the end (when I find time that is). I have 2 more levels left before I finish the game finally.

And I think you're right. You can only get signiture takedowns on single player. I've taken down a few people where the signiture takedowns are supposed to be and they never showed up in the single player achievement listings.

Thanks FourDoor... you can do it! :D And thanks Jason too!

If I can motivate one person to do something important like this, my time on earth has not been wasted. :D

fyi, "perfect elite" still isn't 100%, but it is a nobel achievement. My goal was just perfect elite but then I wanted more.

Now I'm thinking of those multiplayer achievements, but the burners on-line at just too damn good. :(
