Hello,

Ok. So I need to buy a tv, and given that I'm in an apartment, I've been looking at 32" tvs, as much more would be a size problem.

My question to you guys is, if you were in this environment would you:

1.) Buy a regular ntsc tv and just plan on replacing it in the future when other hdtv options became available in said size. (maybe cheaper.. or good ~30" 16:9's).

or

2.) Just buy a Sony 32"XGR450, and use it as a transitionary device.

Its a hard debate for me. I don't like the idea of buying a 32" ntsc that I plan on getting rid of, or not using that long, but on the same hand, I don't have room for anything much bigger.

You can now get a 16x9 HDTV for the same price. 40", 43" and 47" models are out there and all ae outstanding.

Sony is coming out with a 4:3 HDTV that can do the 16x9 squeeze and so is Toshiba and they are no more than $100 to $200 more than a 32" XBR.

You go HDTV now, you will have a TV that will still be useful down the road. It won't go out of date (unless the MPAA gets their way, that is).
