Has anyone had any experience buying from this place- Brandsmart? We are considering getting either the Samsung 4095 or the XBR2 from them. Also, how is their extended warranty ?

Thanks a lot,

It appears that they have issues but this is only one site, do your homework before giving them your money. Check this Out

I purchased a 55" Sony SXRD from Brandsmart in Atlanta last September (if you are wondering why I am now on this LCD site my parents are in the market for a 46" HDTV).

The SXRD has been great but Brandsmart made such a hash of delaying the delivery of my set and tying me up for 2 days while waiting for delivery (it was delivered at midnight - I kid you not) I got an additional $600 reduction off the price after I threatened to cancel the sale. I did cancel my exended warranty that I purchased through Brandsmart and bought a 5 year warranty from SonyStyle.

Brandsmart had a 30 day return policy last September - if it now is 5 days that probably means they are squeezing their margins even more and may be having cash flow problems - definitely not the sort of company from which to buy an extended warranty.

Brandsmart cannot be beat on price where I live but their customer service and support is horrible (which probably explains why they compete on price). I would try to figure out how to get another retailer (BestBuy/Circuit City/HH Gregg?) to match whatever price Brandsmart is selling that LCD for.

I have bought several time from their stores in south florida with no problems. You just need to check to see what the return policy is, if it says ZERO I would not buy. If Its 5 days, then hook up the TV and check it out. Also, you always have the warranty from manafacture if it does not work well, they are authorized sellers. I always get fridges and washer/dryer sets from there for my apts. with no problems. About 3 months ago I bought a 26" sharp there and it is working great for me. If you have an american express platnium card pay with that, they double the waranty and you can always fight the charge if it is broken. Good Luck

Somebody said it best when they equated shoping at Brandmart with buying from e-tailers in Brooklyn! Ever try to buy an electronic item from some of those really cheap online places in Brooklyn? I haven't because I read enough horror stories from people who were being mistreated left and right. You get what you pay for and with a high dollar item like a TV, go to BB or CC. You'll at least be given good customer service after the sale - especially if there is a problem.

The salemen at bestbuy and CC stores in Sunrise, FL refused to match the prices to any places outside of bestbuy and CC themselves. I don't know why they took such a hard stance against price matching. The CCs in Texas, where I live, would have no issue compromising to push the sale through. Is there any other option in term of B&M store to get a good deal on LCD TVs in South Florida ?

One more thing, does anyone find it ridiculous that the 3 year extended warranty at CCs costs $550 on a $2000 LCD ?

Thanks. tp.

None of these stores that have been mentioned here have a very good rating, they are by far among the worst when it comes to performance after the purchase. If one is willing to buy online then Newegg is much better at customer satisfaction.

That is insane - if you are buying a Sony go to SonyStyle for a quote on an extended warranty from Sony. Samsung and Sharp also may offer direct sales of extended warranties on their products.

Board protocol bars disclosure of what I paid Sony for my 5 year warranty on a 55" SXRDC rear projection last September, but it was a lot less than $550.

been dealing with them for 20 years . brandsmart offers various policies of return , i have bought 6 av receivers from them at once just to do my own home eval. and returned all of them a week later with no questions asked.( keep every piece of packing material and never say its defect , rather you are just not satisfied ) they have a 30 day return policy . But nearing superbowl time they limit the return time on big screens due to customer abuse . ( superbowl party use only ) . also you must watch for model #'s that vary by letters and #'s as they get export only goods. all in all they are good if you know exactly what you want and the price you want to pay.

also on rare occasions i have purchased items sold as new , yet the pencil notes in the manual and the peanut butter in the remote told me they had repackage the item and sold as new. never believe anything a sales associate tells you at any store , when in doubt speak to store manager and keep his name handy when you have a problem . me i buy anywhere the price is right on the product i want . if you want store guarantees buy at costco , they offer satisfaction if you have the patience to insist upon it .....

BrandsMart is fine. They are B&M and will work a deal with you in the most positive terms. They say a 5 day full, no questions asked return policy but really they are flexible for a full 30 day period. Nothing at all went wrong with my dealings with them numerous times. Not even close to the same ballpark as a NYC scammer. Where do these stupid rumors come from ? They will even deal more off than the advertised price. Great place to shop. Their warranty will protect you even more should you have a problem after 30 days. About the only place I buy anymore.

I just purchased the Samsung HL-S7178W from Brandsmart. Their price was as good as the online sellers ... even after paying tax. The price was $200 more when I went back to make the purchase (originally saw it on Sunday ... bought on Thursday), but I saw the same salesman and he gave it to me at the lower price without me even asking. It said "30 Day Return" on my sales receipt. The TV was delivered as promised and it is wonderful, so I've no complaints.

I ordered the matching Samsung stand from BB ... they messed up the delivery twice, which wasn't a big deal, but glad I didn't get the TV from them. They did say they would price match, but I decided to give Brandsmart a go, because they had the low price originally and the salesman was nice and no pressure.

I was also offered some great prices on LCD sets, when I indicated we might be in the market for a 46".

I have had the Circuit City in Sunrise, FL price match Brandsmart two times (vid cam and a digital cam). Both times the item was not even in a printed Brandsmart ad... CC called them with at my request.

Brandsmart prices are often as low as some of the lowest price internet retailers. The wherehouse feel and the short return policies is what usually makes me price match. Having said that, I did purchase a Sony "27, 12 years ago from Brandsmart with no problems.
