I'm planning to buy a refurb Dell system for use soley as a music and pic server. Is MCE still recommended for such limited uses or would I be better off with XP home and something like Xlobby?

Also, I need a video card with adjustable color saturation controls since my plasma doesn't have adjustable color on it's VGA input. Can you guys suggest any? Would Intel integrated graphics provide this? I don't need much video processing horsepower since, as you can see, my usage won't be too demanding.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Personally, I think that MCE is terrible for music- it relies on the WMP10 engine, which is still very twitchy for me, and always requires tons of manual re-entry of ID3 data.

The picture viewing engine, on the other hand, is great, and probably the best out there right now.

Overall, I'd probably recommend J. River's Media Center 11 for you. It has the best audio library capabilities, and the best data entry solution for other media. It also has a solid (if uninspired) 10-foot interface.
