I have been looking at purchasing the Sony LCD 60 inch rear projector TV. I wanted to use the TV as a large monitor for my computer as well, but was worried about burn in problems. The guy at the store told me there was no problems with burn in because it was LCD and used a DVI input. But I am very skeptical about his knowledge base. Anyone here know whether burn in will be a problem on the new LCD TVs. Or are the new DLP TVs a better bet??

I wanna go with an LCD RPTV also. It's also cheaper than DLP. I saw an LCD RP Panasonic at 40" at Sears and the quality looked pretty good. It was only $3000, so that ain't bad. Only mainteniance on those is changing the bulb every now and then.

You cannot have burn in.

You should also ask these question in the rear projection forum. That's where LCD RPTVs are discussed. Only flat panel LCDs are discussed here.
