My oval dish's multiswitch has gone bad. Can I temporarily bypass it by feeding the four co-ax from the dual LNBs into a line splicer (don't know what you would call it) and then into the line to the receiver? I only have one receiver anyway. Or am I asking for trouble?

It will not work without the multi-switch. Your only chance would be to find out which "bird" you want to look at for one specific channel, and connect to one output of that LNB.


Do NOT try any other kind of splitter/coupler. In the best case, it won't work, in the worst case, it might blow a fuse/resistor in your STB.

If you have a DirecTV application just take one line from each LNB and use a $20 22 kHz tone switch, you are all set.
