cable box

Finally setup my sony 1271, picture looks great. I'm using dvd's and direct tv. I have an RCA DTC 100 but the High definition stations don't come in. Direct TV checked it out and the receiver is bad. I paid for the protection plan so they are going to get me a new box however the DTC 100 is obsolete so they are going to get me either a Hughes box or a Samsung. Their suppose to call me Monday and tell what boxes are available. Any one have a suggestion of which box I should ask for and the model number. I told Direct TV the output of the box has to meet my requirements of a CRT and give at least 540 progressive on regular channels like the DTC 100. Do all HD boxes take normal broadcasts and turn them into progressive? Thanks Joe
