I'm looking to get a 2way or 3way splitter for my Directv outlet in my great room so I can run PIP in the plasma(2 lines) and bring in a 3rd tv for Sunday football. Am I able to do this? Do I lose anything with video quality? Should I just run another cable line from my satellite instead and split only one way?

You can't split a single DirecTV line into multiple lines and still have everything work correctly. If it were that easy, we wouldn't be spending the money on running more coax and adding multi-switches.

You will have to run TWO more cables to do what you want.
