Cablecard problem with Pioneer?

676 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  optivity
I have a pioneer 4270 with a cablecard installed. At first it worked fine for 2 weeks, however today, the cablecard stop working. I can only get half of my channels. NO digital channels or HD. YOu guys think the tv guide is causing this problem? I have tried two cablecards and both have the same problem. On the other hands, my sxrd has worked fine for 2 years with a cablecard.

Pio's website has a support section, and here is one of the FAQs:
I have lost the TV Guide listings on my plasma TV. How do I get them back?

1. Go to TV Guide.

2. Go up to the navigation bar.

3. Arrow left or right, to the SET UP tab.

4. Arrow down once to highlight CHANGE SYSTEM SETTINGS. (Do not hit enter; only highlight it.)

5. Enter code number 653274147. You will not see anything happen until you complete the code. Once you complete the code, the unit will perform a power cycle. When this is completed, turn the unit off. The TV Guide should start to repopulate within 24-48 hours.

If the TV Guide still fails to load, or has never loaded, please contact our Product Support at 1-800-421-1404. They will check your connections and complete a diagnostics form, to troubleshoot further.

If the CableCARD was working but now has problems, most likely it is either a signal problem at your end or a provisioning (authorization) problem with your cable provider's head-end. Call your cable company and have them re-authorize your CableCARD.

Your owner's manual does not indicate how to display the status / diagnostics information for the CableCARD but typically you will see a "waiting for authorization" message for channels that cannot be viewed, but which you are subscribed for.

Check Pioneer's web site to see if there are any firmware updates associated with CableCARD issues.
