I saw this cablemaster rj45 for a good price. Is it ok to use for russound type keypads or does it need to be stranded? thanks

As far as electrical capability, there should be no difference between stranded and solid. I don't have a russound keypads, but as long as you don't have any problems connecting a solid wire to it, it shouldn't be a problem.

Stranded wire is generally more flexible than solid wire of the same gauge. That's the only benefit that I know of.
