Hello,


So I pre-ordered the AE-700 and a Zenith 318 DVD player. I was hoping that someone could explain to me exactly what cables I need and the process of hooking everthing up (what cables go where). I'd like to have everything ready to go when the projector arrives.

You should connect the PJ and the DVD with a DVI or component video cable. Your choice, either will work.


Can't help with everything else, as you didn't state what else you have to connect!


Is the 700 going to be permanently mounted somewhere? Then you might want to run cables for ALL the inputs.

Thanks. I would only be connecting a DVD player and a digital Comcast cable box. Besides that, only my 5:1 channel receiver.

I don't know if the 318 still upconverts over component... if not, I'd connect it via DVI and connect the cable box via component.


If your 318 CAN still upconvert on component, I'd do it the other way. (318 component, cable DVI)


You'll need a DVI-HDMI adapter (panny has HDMI input).


Either way, you need to run a component and HDMI/DVI cable to your PJ.

Connect the digital audio outputs from the 318 and cable box to your receiver.


Done.
