I had Direct TV at my townhouse yesterday and got the news that logistically it is almost impossible to have satellite installed unless I want 50 ft of wire running through my place.

So now what:? I can get Cablevision in my area but not w/ any HD channels. Does is still make sense for me to get an HDTV w/ Cablevision?

No chance for outdoor OTA antenna either.

I would find away to live with 50 feet of cable running tho the place but that is just me; I think hdtv is so much better is it worth it. If you are going to be watch cbs or hbo or showtime, it seems like a waste to do so in standard definition. So get the dish if you can. seriously

If you have it professionally installed, there is no reason why the wires couldn't be made nearly invisible. Don't even think of an alternative.

I also live in a townhouse/condo and I've installed at least a total of 300 feet of RG6 coax to three TV locations. What I do inside my house is my business as long as the structural integrity of the building is not affected.
