Does anyone know where I can find out more information on Cablevision's IO

(interactive online) digital cable boxes? I have the service and I cannot

find any information about this box anywhere. It was developed by Sony and

OEM'ed for Cablevision. There is only a model number on the outside of the

box (DHG-M55CV). I have searched Sony's site to no avail. Any help would be

appreciated. Thanks...

Good luck finding anything in writing - I looked too, but had no luck. I finally went to a local Wiz and checked one out in person. Here are connections:

* RF Coax in and out

* Composite Video out

* RCA audio analog (R&L) out

* S Video Out

* Digital Audio out (Coax AND Optical) - Cool!

* At least one switched outlet (maybe 2 - can't remember)

* Small fan

* RS232 (also not sure)

Silver in color and will be ordering at least 2, maybe 3 boxes shortly. Best part of the channel package plan is that the HBO suite is offered in the basic package known as "Silver". If you want to upgrade to the "Gold" package (+$20), you get "Silver" + Showtime Suite. For me, the "Silver" package is ideal and I have all the channels I want. I find this very interesting as both D* and E* offer it in reverse, meaning extra $ for HBO, which makes sense from the offering company's point of view.

Ah. That's a really good rental rate, though, for everything you seem to get in those Sony boxes. You know, if Cablevision offered digital cable/iO in lower Westchester, I would be a subscriber. Hell, they don't even offer Optimum Online Cable Modem service. Since they don't, and since their analog service seems so crappy for the price, I got DirecTV.

Just curious if anyone had digital cable from Cablevision, and what was your experience?

Any comparisons to DirecTV?

Head over to Yahoo Groups and look for the "Cablevision" discussion group. Good user info, opinions, and tech help.
