Is it better to have one or the other?

What CURRENT (read no "RP82, dude") models are cadence readers and or flag readers?

Thanks!:D

I own both types of DVD players, so I speak from experience when I say cadence reading is best.

Denon = cadence

Pioneer = flag

Panasonic used to be cadence but now I don't know, because they've changed their players.

I don't know what other companies do.

Hmmm. Ok. This looks to be very important when considering what player to buy.

Is there a list out there that has what brands go by cadence vs flags? I know some players do both depending on the player/brand. Is there a way to determine if a player is cadence and/or a flag reader by looking at the specs? I am sure that this is way more info than manufacturers provide to the "normal" consumer.

Thanks for the help!:D

Josh -

Thanks for the link. I had read that before, but this time I went back and really read it. Sounds like both cadence and flag readers have issues, with cadence being the preferred method.

I confirmed my lasted quest -

H&K DVD-25 reads flags exclusively

Panasonic S35K - ??? don't know
