I have a JVC RS46 and am interested in calibrating it using the X-rite i1Display Pro.

1. Does it degrade over time, if so how long?

2. How often do you use it to keep up a good calibration?

3. Can it calibrate the image off of the screen or do you have to use it before the image hits the screen?

Also, does anyone know if HCFR works with the JVC RS46 and can save the settings to the projector?

I do not have an HTPC but a Sony BDP 5100.

Thank you.

As cars need more than one oil change ... in its life time ...

How often you use a meter also depends on how many miles you put on the tv ... look at it every 500 hours and see how much drift there is ...

Ask yourself the question ... does a screen add anything to an image? Are all screens devoid of color? Can you be sure? If you calibrate in front of a red screen ... what does that really get you when the image you see is reflected off the red screen?

If you think you know what you are doing ... you should go give this calibration quiz a chance.
