Hi,


I purchased the Avia calibrating DVD and was wondering if I was able to calibrate anything else besides the contrast and brightness through VGA? I have the Sony KLV40U100M and connecting my Xbox 360 with the first party VGA cable.

VGA is an RGB signal so there is no color saturation or color balance adjustments in most cases because those signals do not exist in the RGB domain. If those things were to need adjustment, you would need to adjust them at the source before it got decoded into RGB. Check the colorbar patterns though, they may not need any adjustment, in which case you're good to go.

Maybe tonight I'll connect the Xbox 360 through the component and calibrate to see which output looks better!
