I see several references here to the Avia set-up disc. Where is there more information on that? I'm taking delivery on a Hitachi 65S500 on Tuesday.


Where's the best place to buy the Avia disc...or, what about this Avia-disc lookalike on ebay? Is it just as good?

I wouldn't touch that with a ten foot pole. Besides having never heard of this product, their only means of selling it seems to be to try to compare it against the good name of AVIA - not a good sign that the product can't stand on its own merrits.


You might want to consider Digital Video Essentials. It is considered to be the Gold Standard for calibrating digital sets and has MANY positive reviews. To top it off, it can be had at Amazon for the same price as the unknown ebay DVD you are asking about.

You can get both Avia and DVE on amazon for a nice price. Just look up one and down the page a little bit is a link to get both for less than getting them individually.
