I have both VE and Avia. Which is more accurate way to calibrate your tv settings--

1. Use a HTPC (which I have)

2. Use a standalone DVD player.

3. Combination of both?

4. None of the above?

Reason for my question is I began to wonder if using a calibration disk is also dependent on the output device accuracy? On my HDTV there are only two (2) video memories. NTSC and component inputs. How does one know that either their HTPC is accurate or not, or if the DVD player is accurate or not? Reason for question is their is no way to check the accuracy of the HDTV set top box output, regular DSS or cable??

Really would like input on this matter as to how best to determine the preferred device for setting inputs to allow for multiple device connection.

Thanks to all who wish to share their wisdom!

I guess I should have asked which STB is the best? Or maybe which video card is best for HTPC Radeon of GF4? Not trying to make an issue but I find it hard to believe there are not educated opinions on this subject. Love the AVS Forum, just trying to squeeze every last bit of quality out of my system. Lets hear some opinions or ideas!!!!!!!!!!
