My tv has controls for RGB low gain and high gain temperature controls. Can I calibrate these using Digital Video Essentials?

And it also has CMS saturation, CMS hue, CMS value. So how do I adjust these? If I would first set color and tint right and then the CMS controls then they wouldn't be correct anymore?

And alot of times I'm seeing color and tint associated with the blue color. I thought that these would affect all the primaries and secondaries in global?

You cannot, well you SHOULD not, adjust any of those settings w/o a proper meter and software. DVE disc w/o a measuring meter only helps you tweak basic settings like Brightness, Contrast, and Color. For Grayscale and CMS calibration a tool is required if you want it done right.

What TV do you have exactly that has all these settings available in user menu?

I have a Sharp 705E series 32 inch.

But I read that the factory settings were totally off, and no I don't need to have exactly the D65 point and so, but I just want to get as close as possible without spending a lot of money on a meter.

without instruments, you should just set the tv to movie mode and be done with it. That's close out of the box.

Probes start at $100 and go up ... a lot to some ... and nothing to others.

Wait... what? $100? I thought they'd always cost at least $500?

Which one is $100 and the best in the $100 price range?

And do you just use DVE test patterns for that or does it come with a dvd or something?
