I had to forced myself to eat some chicken soup. I'm trying to go to sleep, but the iPad keeps letting me know that I've got a message lol.

Which software did you use. I just got a new ssd Samsung 840 evo 120GB for 65 bucks from staples. Planning on doing a clone from a intel x25-m 80gb. Do you think doing a clean install is better or clone is good enough.

I guess I should have opened the box sooner. I got a Samsun 840 Pro and it has cloning software. It's available on their site also. Did you run yours yet? I'll be doing mine tomorrow.

Just finish cloning the new samsung 840 evo. Man has SSD gone up in speed since I got my Intel from 2009 and price has drop like crazy. Got my intel for $249.00 for 80gb 3bucks a gb. Got the Samsung for 61 bucks for 120gb. Ended up using Acronis True Image to clone.

I used to own the Acronis software but when I moved to Windows 7 awhile back I would have had to buy the new version. Didn't wanna spend the bucks on it. Yeah, I paid as much for my Crucial 128 gig as I did for the Samsung 256 gig. I have a pair of the Crucial drives so I'll probably give one to my son so he can speed up his system. Nice scores. The Samsungs are speedy.

My coffee table is mahogany and those speakers do look darker than it does but not by a whole lot. Maybe I should call my coffee table  11 PM mahogany. Or at least after sundown.

Got a guy coming to listen to my Revels tomorrow. If they sell I'm thinking about making a turn towards the 705's if I can find a used pair. Almost a U-turn. Never done that before.

Yeah, but it's an upgrade over the 703's

Yeah acronis has a free 30 days trial so i ended up using it. Btw here is the new benchmark with "Samsung Magician tweak" Rapid mode enable....Unreal......The first screenshot i posted was before enabling rapid mode.

Hey guys

Long time reader/lurker here and I must say, for someone completely new to the home theater scene, I've learned tons reading here over the last couple months. You guys are a tremendous help when I picked out my setup although I haven't been able to pull it off yet. Getting there though.

Anyway my mother in law approached me last week with a $2500 budget to set up her living room. New Tv, surround sound, and xbox one.

TL350 set (she only wanted satellites no towers/bookshelf speakers) $535 from polk ebay store

Samsung 55in LED for under $900 from bestbuy

Marantz NR1403 slim Accersories4less (limited space in entertainment center) $315

BIC America F12 $200 amazon

Xbox One retail $500

I do have a few questions though.

Is this setup ideal, keeping the budget in mind?

What brackets can i use to mount these speakers?

What recommended cables should i be using?

Thanks. She's coming from a crappy 15 year old HTIB and standard definition TV so I'm looking forward to her wow factor.

well i've been away from this thread for a few days and I aint readin 4 or 500 posts to catch up...stan, geoff, climber, ender, et al give me the cliffs notes version.

anyway, if you had $800 to $1000 to spend on car stereo speakers and sub and amps what would you get?

keep in mind that my install has to be completely custom and not too big. I can do the install my self, but am not really sure what to get. I have head unit taken care of, just need the things that make noise.

in case you regulars forgot, here's my ride again:
