Gurus need your help,

I am running two Pioneer Slot DVD Drives, one for USA Region 1, and one for Region 4, in a full tower with a Pentium 400, GeForce 400 with updated drivers and Powerstrip and XP.

My cousin installed both drives and one has been set for Region 4, to play PAL discs, but when we tried to play Region 1 discs in the other drive, it would not play them, even when set to Region 1.

We then checked the other drive, and this had been changed to Region 1

and would not play Region 4 discs! with 3 times remaining before it locks.

What have we done wrong? Has anyone experienced this problem before?

Would it be related to the way the IDE cable is set up. Running Wintel.

It seems that when you change the region code on one drive, the other drive changes as well at the same time?

Any suggestions? I'm selling my house and I want to run my Sony 1272 so being a computer idiot, I am hesitant to start playing around with it.

We have since pulled the IDE cable out of the Region 1 drive, and the other now will play PAL discs.

Thanks, Andrew...
