I thought that some sort of regs had outlawed louder commercials years ago. I don't often watch commercials, but hadn't noticed much of a problem for years. The problem I do notice, is that some local commercials, added by Comcast, are way too loud. I suspect that this is a failure to match levels, due to lack of effort, rather than deliberate.

The problem is the the average commercial wasn't actually any louder(at it's peaks) it's just that they were loud the whole way through, making them seem louder. I agree those local cable commercial inserts can be ridiculous but my guess is because of lack of over site and apathy, nothing will be done with those

FCC now has the authority to order CALMer commercials.


It'll take a year, except the last word in the linked article is "waiver" so I have to assume $$$ will be involved!?
