Hi there,


I currently have the azur 650R receiver and I run it with pair of richter unicorn main speakers, centre and rears.


I'm looking at updating to paradigm. I like the studio 100 and cc690. I have been told that I shouldn't go with the 100's as the azur wnt handle them and I run the risk of damaging speakers and or receiver.


However, another store has recommended the upgrade...


Need help on which way to go...

Azur specs...


Power Output: 7 x 100 watts rms per channel, 8 ohms (all 7 channels driven)

2 x 120 watts rms per channel, 8 ohms (two channels driven)


Trust me, you won't "damage" anything. Whoever told you that either had no idea what they were saying or were just trying to sell you something.


If you really wanted to, you could add an external amp to the Azur, but depending on room size, distance from the main speakers to where you listen, how loud you listen, where you cross your sub(s), etc, chances are you likely don't require it.
