Just wondering because I have a Kenwood HTB-505 system which claims to have DTS, but when I put in Gladiator and switch it to DTS ES mode, I get absolutely no sound.

You have to use a digital connection between the DVD player and the receiver and you have to have that digital input active.

On many DVD players, you have to go into the setup menus (usually with no disc inserted) and turn on the DTS bitstream output.

DTS-ES discs are 100% compatible with DTS 5.1 decoders.

Very often the DTS output of most consumer DVD players is factory set to PCM. You need to go into the "audio" section of the DVD players setup menu and select the DTS output to be DTS, as opposed to PCM.

I have my doubts, too. I have a B&K AVP-4090 pre/pro, and I get no sound from Gladiator's DTS tracks, too. Other DTS discs work fine.
