Hi gang, I just got back my HT interest since I’ll be moving into a bigger place soon, that will allow me to expand my HT a little more, yes!

I got a Yamaha RX-V496 (75W x 5) driving 2 floor standing, 2 bookshelf and one center (all Yamaha speakers). I’m planning to upgrade the sound system and I’m wondering if it would be better to upgrade the receiver first or the speakers.

I’m planning to upgrade to Paradigm Reference speakers:

2X Studio 60

2X ADP-470 (or Studio 20, the HT room back wall is far far back, so I’m not sure)

1X CC-470 (or CC-570?)

In order words, will the Yamaha receiver be able to drive those Paradigms, or it would be better to wait and upgrade both the receiver and speakers at the same time? And if so what would you guys recommend?

Thanks in advance guys!

Guys? Normally you are much more resourceful and knowledgeable then that :p

I'm not really knowledgeable regarding receivers and speakers...

I checked out this morning, my current main speakers have a 89db sensibility and are 6 ohms.

The receiver is 70W x 5 at 8 ohms.

Do you need other to provide me some guidelines?
