From what ive viewed of there 47inch at sams for $999 the thing is extremely blurry even after focus to the point where it looks like SD without interlace artifacts(comparing it next to a 3lcd sony wega i could see every poor on this black guys face where on the dlp is was a smear, this wasnt so on the other brand dlps however)that and im suseptible to rainbow effects under differnt conditions.

The tvs were displaying 1080i material, mabey the samsung had a bad scaler
I have had mine about 4 months now and am very happy with it. I don't have xbox so I can't comment on that but overall the picture is great, both sd and especially hd.
I just bought the HL-S4266W model and it looks great. I have mine hooked up to a XBox 360 and there's no lag that I can tell. At Fry's, I checked out the Sammy, Sony and Mitsu and to my eyes, the Sammy looked the best.

Yes.

I'm very happy with this TV so far. I mainly just use it for the 360 but I've watched a couple of DVD's and the picture quality is excellent. SDTV looks good as well but I've yet to try HDTV. I'm going to get the HD package with my cable this week.
