So I have a WD Live player and some of my own movies I ripped to my pc and some of those movies now aren't playing with sound like they were when i didn't have a 4 year old receiver hooked up to it. ( YAMAHA HTR-6130)

So my question is have they made any receiver's that can handle 3D movies and play most audio formats?

I am sure many in the past year can. I know the newest yamaha rx-v(x)35 series supports 3d and all the way up to 7.1 dts-hd and truehd formats. It will internally do mp3 as well, but it does not do AAC, so multi channel aac movies will needed to be re-encoded unless the device can support 6 channel pcm stream over hdmi.
