I have Yamaha RX-V1400 and Bose AM 10 III, I have ordered Infinity Beta 50s from CC for $449 a pair. I am planning on using betas for front. Do you think this is a good idea.

How did you manage to get the Betas for $449 a pair???

That's 150 less than what it shows online.

Did you manage to do a price match, or is an open box deal?



Regarding your question:

I think it is a good idea as long as you replace the center with something that matches the Betas.

It is going to be a brilliant idea if you also replace the surrounds and the subwoofer with something at the same level.

Another advice is that if you are planning to use the cubes as center between Betas, it will be way much better if you simply disable center channel in your amp. That way you can keep the good looking Bose cubes on the tv, but use the very good Betas for center channel information.

CC has a 5 Hour sale this Monday where they offered 25% off on all speakers.

Those speakers were $449 each at CC by me yesterday, not $449 a pair...


Get the infinity speakers, sell the Bose on Ebay and use your proceeds to purchase a new center that matches the Betas. I can't imagine trying to use a Bose cube as a center for real full range speakers.

Betas are on sale at CC for $300 each now. ( I do not have any interest in CC except that I bought all my HT gear there).
