I guess I can answer my own thread with a yes. I just had my Sharp

A10X in for almost 2 weeks of "express" read between the lines SLOW

service. The reason for the service was the fact that I had two pixels

just off center that were stuck on red during dark scenes. The sharp reps.

said they could not see the problem so I spent the better part of two weeks

arguing with them.I finally get the PJ back and the pixels seem to have

disappeared. They are still their but so faintly it is hardly noticable. Prior

to sending it to Sharp they were quite noticeable.

Weird.

Yes they can disappear! I had two, well not exactly dead but "hyperactive" blue pixels in the middle of the screen (Sanyo PLV-70). The first few hours the panel was perfect, then these two pixels (one directly above the other) started kind of flashing, blinking, etc. It looked like someone was playing with a blue laser pointer ;-)

Just when I was about to return the projector, the phenomenon disappeared and never came back since. Strange...

Stuck pixels can correct themselves over time. Not always, but it is possible. Dead pixels will not correct.

There were some people in the retail chains spreading bs that you could massage dead pixels back to life... dont know if anyone was successful but I doubt it's possible... the twisting of the material is ever so small that if you were able to untwist a single pixel, it'd be just as easy to twist a whole load of others.

Cheers...
