Hi:

I currently use an ISF'd RPTV (510) being fed at 540p through a NRS. I want to switch displays and need some advice.

I am considering a 61" plasma or high-end DLP or D-ILA pj. Question is how do the new pj's handle ambient light. I don't want a 100" screen so my screen size would be 5' with plasma or maybe 6'-7' with a pj.

Does having a smaller screen help the pj deal with outside light?

I expect to sit approx 14' from the display wall. I enjoy having the "outside inside" so I'm not looking to create a darkened environment.

Should I go with plasma or a high lumens pj?

We watch out Hitachi 5500 in whisper mode (slighly darker) with the porch lights on and glaring on our 78" Firehawk for everyday viewing. The image is so bright that I can sit next to my wife and read while she watches. For critical viewing, I turn off the porch lights. We have NO drapes in that room and lots of windows, but don't watch during the day.
