Hello,

I had recently come into the projection world a few months ago and am hooked. I purchased an NEC 240k and i love it. My one question is though. I Currently am renting and i have white matte walls as it is and i have a great picture on that wall. Is it worth investing in a screen? I know its been asked probably a thousand times i just am not sure if i can justify the money but would love the look of a fixed screen on the wall. Also is there anyone out there that might have some preset settings that has worked well for them for colors and all? Just curious guess it doesnt hurt to ask. I also recently gotten high def and whenever i use my projector i have the keystone setup and it matches up pretty well but when the signal is fed to it the image and all looks fine but the outline where the keystone was setup goes out of wack and isnt a 4X3 square anymore any suggestions? Thanks a ton. I am hooking it up with two connections using High quality RCA to VGA cables for component and a straight vga cable for my pc hookup. Thanks again for any help.

Offhand, you're asking too many questions in one post. You'll find that if you ask focused questions you'll get more responses.

That said, a matte white screen will provide a slight to moderate improvment in PQ over your typical white wall. If for no other reason than the screen, with it's masking, will provide better contrast for the image. There are many other smaller factors that a screen can help overcome in a wall: incosistent color, uneven surface, etc.

Other screens will provide other benefits. Read up on these forums and many of your questions will be answered.
