Can I be lazy?

I have every intention of doing my research, but I'd appreciate a hand for those of you who have stayed current.

I've gone from my first Panny 7 years ago to my current 3 Kuro 9Gs, but haven't kept up with what's going on.

Is there a 60" plasma that stands out right now? I'm not seeing anything that pops out after 10 min or so on the forum. I can only guess that no one has caught up to kuro yet.

Thanks in advance for those of you patient enough to accomodate my laziness.

Yeah, there's nothing that'd make it worth your time/money to "upgrade" unless you care a lot about 3D or want to go larger than whatever sizes you have now.
Thansk dlplover. At the risk of offending someone, I'm not at all a fan of 3D.

I'm actually looking for a friend. Hoping to get a head start on my research. Love my Kuros.
It depends on price-range. VT30 would probably be the closest and so far they don't appear to be rising. There's also the VX300 Panasonic Pro coming out that some people are getting excited about. On the LCD side, you can check out the new sharp local-dimming "Elite" LED lcd. That's if you want the highest end out there. On a budget, plasma will still give you much better performance/price.
Thanks very much for that. That's the start I was looking for. Price isn't an issue, but I tend to prefer plasma, unless the reasons for that opinion have changed as well...

I own the tcp50gt25 set. its a 3d set. I have read that most 3d sets give off better 2d picture then non 3d. I heard how great the kuro sets are. I never seen one. everyone likes them alot. its also my first plasma. I had a rear projection & lcd before.

The Sharp Elite is a reality now, from what I understand. Should be on shelves this September. I am not sure if it will be good or bad, as its all just talk right now. I think its an LED LCD set by sharp, 60" and 70" that utilizes the Kuro Elite technologies and holds the Elite name.

Apparently, Kevin Miller, a well respected calibrator who participates in the yearly calibration round up events was invited by Sharp to evaluate the new "Elite" line, but I cannot confirm any of this as I am just a reader/poster here on AVS.

I can't see how making an investment right now would be wise, as long as your current Kuros are working properly.

Here is the official Sharp Elite site:

Here is engadgets video preview of the actual set:

Of course it could be a junker...which based on the engadget preview review I highly doubt, but we will see.

LOL. I'm doing research for a friend. Don't need anymore friends.

OneHump is, by the way, a camel!
