I use the girder command Power On to turn my htpc on via my pronto and irman. I'm running on an Asus tusl2-c m/b.

Look in your BIOS... Often there is a setting for power on at mouse or keyboard or hotkey or password...

If so learn the keyboard (or if you have an IR mouse) command that you set in the BIOS to power on...

Phat Phreddy,

I've got power on from keyboard or mouse activated in the bios BUT i want to power on the HTPC using the Pronto.

Is it true that the IRMan(serial port) / Girder is not active when in a standby or hibernating state, if so does this rule out using any IRMan / Girder combo?

I've also got S3 in the bios and wake from USB device. Can i use this together with a USB to serial adapter with the IRMan or will Girder not be active?

One solution is to get an X-10 module to power it on with IR control. Another is to use an old cable convertor that will remotely power on it's outlet with an IR command. Both of these require that you set the AC power recovery to auto or power on in the bios.
