Can I buy some type of box that converts the signal from my dvd recorder, vcr etc so I can hook it them up to the rgb cards on the sony switcher?

If so, who sells them?

I presume your Sony switcher wants RGBHV inputs. If the outputs are component (RGB), then you need a transcoder(component to RGBHV). The VCR probably is not component so you need a scaler for it to convert it up to RGBHV
