I might do the Zoomplayer, Dscaler, ffdshow route... however I might also just use Theatertek.

Is the picture output from Theatertek lightyears below what ffdshow/z-player can achieve? It certainly sounds 'easier' to use Theatertek (albeit more expensive).

To output an 800x600 image... what sort of CPU do I need for either.

I have read the cpu requirement threads... but everyone seems to be upscaling big time.

I think you would be happy with the image quality and ease of set up of TT. If all you are outputting is 800x600 and it sounds like you weren't planning on using ffdshow, it won't take much of a processor at all. I'd say probably a p3 could do it.

800x600 is the native resolution of my projector. even if I apply deinterlacing, etc you still think it won't take much processor power?

Might be easier to specify what yoru CPU is and ask if it will work. But it won't take all that much.

With 800X600, you don't need FFdshow and all the attending tweaking. Frankly, I like TT enough alone, even on my 720P projector.
