Can I make a DVD from content on my Comcast DVR?

I have a Comcast DVR ( Motorola DCT 6412 ) that provides me HD and DVR capability. I am recording a show this week that I would like to be able to put on a DVD for a friend, since they do not have a DVR and are not able to watch the show.

Is there any reason I won't be able to put that show onto a DVD? What would be the best method? The DVR has outputs and my PC has matching inputs (firewire). I would just use my video capture software to capture the video into a file and then burn it to the DVD, right? Or can I copy the file directly from the DVR to my PC?

Anything I'm forgetting? Is there an easy way to do all of this? As it is right now, I'll have to move either my PC or my DVR to connect the two. Any way to avoid the move?

Any helpful suggestions or comments would be appreciated!!
