i'm not sure if this is the right area for this post, but i looked through and couldn't find a similar post anywhere.

i have just bought a tv for my bedroom... thing is, my bedroom is tiny and i don't want anything in there that doesn't have to be. i am wondering if it is possible to run my tv in my bedroom while my rogers HD box is in another room? obviously simply running cables through walls won't work as i'd have to go to the other room still to change channels... the only thing i can figure is, i would need some sort of link between the box and my tv that resides in my bedroom so the remote still works. it just needs to be smaller than a rogers box and i'm not sure if anything like this even exists.

if anyone has ever done this, has any ideas on how to achieve this or can point me in the direction of where i might find this information, it would be very greatly appreciated!

thanks!

There are IR remote extenders that you can buy that forward the IR signals via RF wireless signals. If you can otherwise run the cables, that would be all you'd need to make remote control of the box feasible between rooms.

thank you very much! good to know... i will look up where to purchase these goods. what if i threw a curve ball at you and told you i wouldn't be able to run cables that far? i wish it was as simple as "just on the other side of the wall", but i'd quite literally need a 30 foot hdmi cable... minimum! would i be correct in assuming i am not living in a futuristic world where there exists a wireless hd receiver? i would think that in all my searches i would have found something by now, but maybe i'll just have to hide the box in a clever spot within the bedroom, buy your IR extender and try to find a long enough hdmi cable.
