I currently have a pioneer elite receiver with three hdmi inputs. Can I use a hdmi switcher with the reciever? What I want to do is use hdmi input number 3 on the reciever for the switcher. Will this work? Thanks

Yes you can use a switcher with it. Go to Monoprice.com and get one of the switchers withever how many HDMI inputs you want. I believe they have 4X1,5X1, and even an 8X2, all with built in equalizers. I know the the 4X1 and 5X1 are rather inexpensive and they work very good. You should be able to connect it to any input on the AVR you want. Good luck.

Read the reviews and make sure the switch will work with whatever devices you are planning on using it for, I had a problem with mine not playing with the PS3, and Monoprice confirmed that some of the models don't work well, or at all with the PS3, and it is also finicky with my Samsung DVD player.
